Dispatch

Check the order.
Before you sell it.

A rep types the order. Dispatch answers, before anyone commits: how many plate setups it really needs, how many labels you throw away, what it costs ganged and separate — and whether the date they just promised is worth anything.

What Dispatch does
The floor’s answer, while the rep is still typing.

Thirty SKUs with random counts is not one order, it is thirty setups. Dispatch says so before it is sold — and it does not quote. Your MIS still writes the quote; this hands the rep the numbers to negotiate with.

How it actually runs
Plate setups, impressions and the labels that come off the press but never ship. Ganging saves setups and costs waste, because every slot prints on every impression — Dispatch shows you both numbers instead of picking for you.
The real cost, both ways
Setup, run, material — and the rewind. Cores, handling and the rolls it actually makes, not the rolls that were ordered. Leaving the rewind out is how a $9,800 order reads as a 96% margin.
What the date is worth
Same day, next day, expedited or standard — with the rush percentage your margin floor actually requires, and a reason to decline when the date cannot be bought.
The better shape
Even counts across the plate, the free labels already being printed, and the SKU counts worth suggesting back — the upsell that costs the shop nothing because the impressions are already running.
It refuses honestly
Thirty SKUs will not fit twelve slots, and Dispatch says exactly that instead of pricing a plan that cannot run. Every refusal names the measurement at fault.
Works beside your MIS
PrintSmith, Label Traxx, CERM or a spreadsheet — Dispatch does not need to replace any of them. Link it to PrePressOS and the die, web and quantity fill themselves in.

The order already knows the shop.

Your presses, your rates, your rewind cost and your margin floor are typed once. Link Dispatch to PrePressOS and the die, web and quantity arrive from the work order too — so a rep is answering the question, not filling in a form.

  • Die size, web width, across count, and quantity pre-fill from the work order
  • Checked in Dispatch, preflighted in Crosscheck, imposed in Formation, scheduled in Tower
  • Run length confirmed against the WO quantity before the RIP sees the file
Work Order Builder
Die size, web width, across count, and quantity pre-fill from the WO — no spec re-entry.
Crosscheck
Preflight the art file first, then hand it to Dispatch — you know the file is clean before the N-up is built.
Tower
The setups and run length Dispatch worked out land on the schedule, so the press queue reflects what the job actually takes rather than what was hoped for.
Handover
The rush percentage and any override reason are recorded against the order, so the shop can see later which promises were bought and why.
